Cycling

Cycling has always been my main sport. From when I could just about walk to now I have always had a bike and raced it . From mountain-biking in South Africa to road racing in Ireland. There are few disciplines I haven’t done.

Junior Tour of Ireland

The Junior Tour of Ireland is an international cycling stage race. It has 6 stages that cover 600 kilometres in Co. Clare Ireland. It designed for junior cyclists aged 17-18. With about 100 foreign riders , some riders even on professional development teams there is a lot of talent at the race.

Of the roughly 130 riders who started 103 finished, I placed 99th. While on paper this would be nothing less than a sheer disappointment, I was grateful to finish the race.

I am grateful for the support of Cycling Munster and my father.

Speed

This edition of the Junior Tour was faster than the Rás Tailteann which is Ireland’s premier mens elite stage race.

The Rás is also one stage less.
